The online counselling for students who cleared the JEE-Advanced is underway and will continue till June 30. The result of JEE Advanced was declared on June 21.
The online counselling will give students an opportunity to decide the course they want to study and the institute they would prefer to join. The final decision would however be based on the marks they have received.
According to reports, students have shown keen interest in subjects like Computer Science, Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical and Civil Engineering courses.
The students have shown preferences to institutes like IIT-Mumbai, IIT-Delhi, IIT-Madras, IIT-Kanpur, IIT-Roorkee, IIT-BHU and IIT-Guhawati and IIT-Kharagpur.
The new institutes like IIT-Gandhinagar, IIT-Mandi, IIT-Ropar are also among the preferences shown by the students. After the process of counselling is complete, the governing body will be announcing the allotment of seats to students on July 2.
The successful students can get their documents verified at their respective IITs. The dates of document verification is from July 4 to July 8.
Once the process of verification is complete, the student will be allocated IITs and the courses, depending on the marks scored by them.
