How to score well for JEE (Advanced): 4 tips for students

Rohan Sur has a few days left for his JEE (Advanced). The student from St James in Kolkata has spent the past two years preparing for JEEs. His dream is to study Computer Science at IIT-Kharagpur.
Rohan is matter-of-fact about the exam. “I study for four to five hours a day,” he says. “There’s not much to do now except for keep cool and revise concepts.”
Do not revise new topics
Not revising new topics is a point that Ashwin Muralidharan agrees with. Ashwin is the founder of JEE Funda, an initiative by IITians to help students studying for JEE.
“Revise all formulae and go through all important concepts that you made note of during your preparation,” he says.
Take mock tests
Going through past year papers is another tip. “Going through past year papers will help understand the pattern of questions and their level of difficulty,” says Ramesh Batlish, Head-FIITJEE, Noida.
Eat right
Ashwin believes that staying fresh is a great stress buster. “Avoid junk food,” he advises, adding that oily food makes it difficult for students to focus.
Music matters
It is important for students to be relaxed. “Listen to good pacifying music for around and hour and keep revising concepts and formulae,” suggests Ashwin.
